Effusion Dance Center Policies

Effusion Dance Center (“EDC”) or (“The Studio”): School year is a 11-month school year beginning in August and ending in June. Students may register at any time of the year. The studio does not issue refunds or credits due to illness, vacations, religious observances, extended travel or for any other reason deemed non-refundable by EDC.

  • Upon registration and payment of fees, and in accord with the EDC policies, I understand the following:

Tuition, plus a $25 annual registration fee, must be paid before a student begins class. Tuition is a yearly charge divided into monthly installments for your convenience. Payments are due by the 27th of the month for the following month. Payment can be automatically deducted from a checking account or credit card. Cash is also acceptable. No personal checks will be accepted. There will be a 3% service charge added to each debit/credit card payment. A $25 late fee will be charged if payment is not received by the 2nd of the current month.

Students will not be able to participate in class if tuition is not current.

Correspondence from EDC will be made via email. The Studio does not send statements.

One month advance email notice is required for any modifications to auto payment

  • EDC reserves the right to combine classes or shorten class duration, subject to enrollment.

  • If a student misses a class they are welcome to attend a different class of any style. Make-up classes must be attended within one month. No refunds will be given.

  • In the event a card is declined due to insufficient funds a service charge of $35.00 will be assessed to the account.

  • Class withdrawal by a student/guardian must be submitted via email to the EDC office staff at admin@effusiondancecenter.com, not to the class’s instructor. One month’s notice is required. For example: if May will be the student’s last month attending class(es), EDC must receive cancellation notification by the end of April. If cancellation notification isn’t received one month before withdrawal, the student will be charged for the additional month.

  • If EDC cancels a class(es) due to extreme weather or any event deemed necessary by The Studio, replacement of missed class(es) will be scheduled at the director’s discretion.

  • A deposit of $80.00 per costume is due by November 15th of the current EDC school year. Once a costume is ordered, this deposit is non-refundable.

All costume balances (owed by any student that has joined after January 1st) are due by February 1st. Any costume payments received after the due dates will incur a $15.00 late fee for each month that payment is late.

Parents are responsible for any minor alterations necessary for your child’s costume (i.e., hook & eye, hemming, etc.)

  • It is the parents’ responsibility to be aware of all school activities, such as observation days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed. EDC will post all such notices on the Information Board in The Studio, and send reminders via email.

If your child takes multiple classes and/or has siblings in the school, EDC will attempt to place all of their routines in one show; however, this is not a guarantee and parents may be required to attend more than one show.

By giving us your mobile number, you are granting us permission to keep you updated of school closings and other important information.

    Item description

  • Students should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of class to prepare. Students arriving 10 minutes or later to class may only be permitted to observe that class.

Appropriate dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes. Wearing inappropriate dancewear to class will result in students only being permitted to observe the class.

  • Any student who shows disrespect to instructors, employees, another parent, visitors, or other students will be asked to leave the building. Parents will be notified via email. Bullying, including posting inappropriate videos or photos to social media, will not be tolerated.  No form of sexual harassment will be tolerated. No substance abuse will be tolerated. Any student who chooses not to respect this code of conduct will be permanently suspended, and the tuition already paid will be forfeited. If warranted, authorities will be notified.

No phones are allowed in the classroom. After one warning, a student will be asked to leave class.

Posting on social media during class time is strictly prohibited. This includes water breaks.

Vandalism of EDC property or a property where EDC is holding an event will result in suspension, forfeiture of prepaid tuition, and possible reparations.

Parents will be held to the same codes of conduct as the students. Parents who fail to do so will be asked to leave the studio.

  • In consideration of the benefits derived from EDC, students/guardians waive all claims arising from dance instruction, rehearsal, training and performances at The Studio, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, and for bodily injury, property damage or loss otherwise, that students may incur against EDC, its successors and assigns, its officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and their heirs, executors, and administrators. Additionally, students/guardians waive all claims arising out of the act of being transported to and from such activities, or other EDC events or functions. The student(s) named on this contract does voluntarily participate in any/all EDC activities and I understand that certain risks are involved and waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the student(s) before, during or after class time. It is required that all students be covered by their families insurance. If injury occurs, it is understood that the student’s own policy is the only source of reimbursement.

I certify that all allergies have been disclosed, and I/we waive any right to seek damages against EDC due to allergic reaction while on EDC property or at an EDC activity.

I certify that the student(s) listed on this contract is(are) in good health and capable of participating in all the activities and classes.

I am also aware that EDC may videotape or photograph students throughout the EDC school year. The School is hereby granted permission to use this media in promotional materials/advertising, including but not limited to brochures, websites, posters, flyers, postcards, or web banners. Permission is hereby granted for the school to copyright such videotape or photographs in its own name.

Note: Upon registering and payment for classes at EDC, you are agreeing to the above Studio Policies, terms and conditions.
